Hello and welcome to the website for the Office of Inspector General for the US Department of State and Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG). I’m Steve Linick. I was appointed Inspector General in September 2013.
The Fall 2015 Semiannual Report to the Congress has now been posted to the OIG websites. It covers OIG’s oversight work during the reporting period April 1, 2015, through September 30, 2015. Twice annually, OIG is required to issue a semiannual report to the Department of State and the Broadcasting Board of Governors.

On December 8, 2015, the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee held a full-committee hearing titled, “Review of the New Embassy London Project.” Inspector General Steve A. Linick testified on findings and recommendations from OIG’s July 2015 report, “Audit of the Construction Contract Award and Security Evaluation of the New Embassy Compound London.”

The Lead Inspector General – Overseas Contingency Operations posts its fourth quarterly report to Congress on Operation Inherent Resolve. The Operation is dedicated to countering the terrorist threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Iraq, Syria, and the broader international community.
The combined Lead Inspectors General for Overseas Contingency Operations have published their first biannual and second quarterly report to Congress for Operation Freedom’s Sentinel (OFS). OFS has two complementary missions in Aghanistan: U.S. counterterrorism operations and U.S. support for NATO’s Resolute Support capacity‑building effort.

The combined Lead Inspector General quarterly report on the overseas contingency operation of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR) has been sent to Congress. This is our third quarterly report, discharging our individual and collective agency oversight responsibilities pursuant to section 8L of the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended.
