On February 8, 2007, Inspector General, Howard J. Krongard testified before the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs regarding the Department of State Office of Inspector General’s view of audit and oversight activities related to Iraq. His testimony discussed how OIG’s approach to oversight in Iraq has been through audits, inspections, investigations, assessments, and surveys to identify and recommend ways in which State Department programs can operate more efficiently and economically.  The Inspector General also responded in writing to Questions for the Record from Chairwoman Nita M. Lowey.
