The Office of Audits is also responsible for advising the Inspector General on matters related to the Department and BBG?s overall compliance with the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act and the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act. As such, the Office of Audits monitors the Department's identification of material weaknesses and subsequent actions taken to correct them and conducts independent evaluations of internal OIG control systems, as appropriate.
In addition to performing audits, the Office of Audits performs audit resolution and follow-up activities for all OIG audit reports and recommendations; provides contracting services for the Department and other federal agencies; provides investigative support; provides consultative services to the Department; performs quality assurance reviews of CPA firms; performs analytical reviews of OMB A-133 and Fulbright audits; and represents OIG interests in government-wide groups and initiatives.
